Understanding Underground: Geology forms our landscape, resources our economy and underpins our infrastructure

The Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI) is celebrating 70 years of public service and this chaired session will showcase flagship examples which demonstrate the impact of its work and research.

The session features four presentations on geosciences research, mineral resources, the value of our landscape as a tourist attraction and renewable energy potential in Northern Ireland followed by panel discussion involving collaborators from universities, industry and NICS which demonstrates ‘Great Ways of Working’.
